Let’s Talk Gardens…

Being a housewife has started a spark in me to want to have a big, luscious garden but it that wasn’t always my dream. When Ben and I moved into our house last July it was too late to start a garden. We ended up getting our veggies through a local CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) and LOVED it! I thought for sure we’ll just do that again this next year and I’ll just grow some gourds and pumpkins for decorations.  Well little did I know, this spring I was perusing the seed section at the store and pretty soon I had  a few more seeds than anticipating! So commence the now dream of having our own garden…

So here’s a look at what I have so far…

This is my garden’s current state, and what I’ll be filling it with soon! What I have planted in the garden to date:  my garlic (which I planted in the fall), spinach and onions. Once we are in the clear of frost I’ll be putting the rest in. Seeing green and new growth inspires me- does it inspire you? Let us know if you are planting a garden this year and what you are planting in it. Happy Gardening!

Love,

Emma

By the way: If you can’t have a garden I encourage you to look up a local CSA and become a share owner…we found the experience very rewarding as well!

  1. Emma & Mal, I love your new blog, great idea, and really cute pictures! Yes, i am attempting to plant a garden with peas, cukes, carrots, beans, and growing cosmos flowers for my planters this year. The green sprouts are inspiring!
